The Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering Antonio Ruberti (DIAG) of Sapienza University of Rome invites outstanding candidates to express their interests for 1 full-time tenured position (full professor) in Cybersecurity (in the context of Computer Science Engineering). The position is funded under the program "Departments of Excellence" of the Italian Ministry of Education and Research that will help consolidating and strengthening the research group in Cybersecurity at DIAG-Sapienza.

 

Profile

Candidates will hold a PhD from a leading research university, an established teaching experience, an appropriate record of publications in highly ranked international journals and conferences, an appropriate record of national and international grants as principle investigator, and an adequate record of supervision of PhD students or similar experience in leading research teams in industrial research. Candidates will also have either a tenured position status in a university or have recently obtained the appropriate national qualification (ASN) in the Academic Discipline "Information Processing Systems"€ (ING-INF/05) of the Italian University System.

 

Position

Successful candidates will be engaged in first-class research in the area of Cybersecurity, will supervise Master Thesis and PhD students in their fields, will contribute to the Master degree in Cybersecurity at Sapienza University of Rome, will be involved in collaborations with industry and public bodies, and will take a leading role at the Inter-Departmental Research Center of Cyber Intelligence and Information Security (CIS) at Sapienza University of Rome. Appointments are full-time. The salary is competitive. We especially welcome expressions of interests from female scholars.

 

About the Department

The Department of Computer, Control, and Management Engineering Antonio Ruberti of Sapienza University of Rome is a center for research and education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It was established in 1983, and in 2001 it was named after Antonio Ruberti, the eminent scholar who founded it. Currently, the department is composed by more than 70 faculty members (full, associate and assistant professors), with the addition of about 70 PhD students and a similar number of post-docs. Excellence in research and teaching is the mission of the department, with a strong emphasis on applications that stimulate basic research, on interdisciplinary research, and on technology transfer and dissemination of results.  Internationally renowned research groups in computer science and engineering, system science, artificial intelligence, bioengineering, robotics, operation research, and management science are active at DIAG. Numerous prizes and awards have been assigned to its members for their scientific and educational activities. By virtue of its outstanding scientific record, it has been selected for the participation in the recent "Departments of Excellence" program of the Italian Ministry of Education and Research.
