National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics

CINI is the main point of reference for the Italian national academic research in the fields of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Technology. In a very strict cooperation with the national scientific communities, the Consortium promotes and coordinates scientific activities of research and technological transfer, both basic and applicative, in several fields of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics

The Consortium involves 1,300+ professors of both Computer Science (Italian SSD INF/01) and Computer Engineering (Italian SSD ING-INF/05), belonging to 39 public universities. The Consortium is submitted to the periodic Quality Evaluation of its research activities by ANVUR, the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of the University System and Research.

Calls For Papers & Other Opportunities

Prof. Paolo Prinetto from Politecnico di Torino/CINI (Italy) visited Lero in the week Dec. 2-5th. At UL, his talk on "Connected Assisted Living 2.0" outlined the development of the AsTech National Laboratory of CINI and highlighted several projects where software, hardware, sensors, robots, and virtual characters cooperate to support deaf and deaf-blind users.

In his capacity as President of CINI, the Consortium of 39 Italian Universities that research in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, he was introduced by Lero to SFI and discussed CINI's 30 years of experience in collaboration between universities.

UL President Prof. Don Barry and Prof Prinetto expressed their strong support for bilateral cooperation initiatives in research and education that might bring the two institutions closer, especially concerning partnerships in the context of Horizon 2020.
