Profile
We invite applications for a tenured Associate Professorship in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

The position is opened within the framework of the new bachelor program in Digital Management established by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in partnership with H-Farm S.p.A., one of the top seed accelerators in Europe. 

We are mainly interested in seeking candidates with strong scientific expertise in methods for the analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of software systems, with particular expertise on techniques for supporting the enforcement of properties of software systems, like correctness, security, privacy, and reliability. However, we are interested in considering for the post also candidates whose expertise and research agenda center on other topics in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.

The successful candidate will show an ability to cross the specific disciplinary boundaries in evaluating the long-term prospects of the research agenda, and co-operating in a stimulating and diverse research environment bringing together scholars from different fields, to work collaboratively on the broad themes of the digital transformation with its challenges (e.g. cybersecurity) and opportunities (e.g. entrepreneurship).

A Ph.D. in a relevant field of study is required. Applicants must demonstrate a record of published research in peer-reviewed journal or conferences, and the ability to teach effectively in Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs. An innovative teaching record will be favorably considered.

Teaching Duties
The teaching priorities for the post are handled by the Department of Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Statistics, and are related to the new program in Digital Management as well as to the bachelor / master / doctorate programs in Computer Science offered by Ca' Foscari. Regular duties include an annual teaching load of about 120 class hours, corresponding to three-to-four courses. Service for the Department includes mentoring master and PhD students.

The successful applicant should be able to teach in English at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral level. S/he is expected to achieve adequate Italian fluency for teaching courses in this language within three years.

Procedure
Complying with the current Italian legislation, to apply for a Tenured Associate Professorship, candidates have to possess an Italian Scientific Habilitation for this position (sector INF/01 or ING-INF/05), or they have to hold an equivalent academic position (associate professor) at their current Italian or foreign university.

After the closure of the present call for expression of interest, at the beginning of year 2018 Ca' Foscari will open the official public call for the post, as required by the Italian regulation for academic employment.

We expect to fill the positions by Summer 2018.
